As Canada proudly celebrates Penny Oleksiak’s gold medal, I am a bit concerned for her phone bill.  You see she ran out of her data plan after winning her second medal.  (https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/eh-game/canada-s-penny-oleksiak-ran-out-of-data-195501713.html)  Many of us know the fear that arises when that happens as you await the bill damage.

We may not have as much pride for our wireless providers who are also world-class. According to a recent CRTC Report, ( http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/publications/reports/compar/compar2016.htm ) Canada ranked first among eight countries for having the highest price for the low usage bundle of services, which they defined as Tier 1.  Canada actually dominated in that category!

Canada took the silver in Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 wireless usage and we lost the silver to Japan in Level 2 where they beat us by $.01.  I am sure these are results that Canadians are not cheering.
